How much power can i expect from a throttle boddie and a mas air? Is there any beniff of doing them at the same time? Also how much will headers and a y pipe run installed? Are there any places to get headers installed besides the normal muffler shops???
If you want some good horsepower, don't waster your money on the MAS Air sensor and throttle body. I have both along with the KKM, Jacob wires, bosch +4, Flowmaster exhaust and high flow cat. The MAS air and TB were put on last an the only thing that I noticeably gained was throttle response. I just ordered Borla headers from Carparts.com for $230.00 - definitely worth it. It'll definitely improve the engine's performance.
As for your intentions for the MAS and TB. In all likelihood, you'll spend close to, if not, a little more than $500. Why not consider NOS? Vanirtech.com has a kit made especially for the Explorer and you will really notice performance. It comes fully adjustable to either 55, 65 or 75hp and costs $590.
While you are thinking about that, go ahead and throw the headers in - you can probably do the job yourself.
Mike:
I noticed you use the jacobs wires,I recently ordered the jacobs DIS ignition ,and did not see much of a diff.,I sent it back, and they are shipping me a new one as well as take off $100. off the cost.
I'm wondering though,if this thing will do what they say it will ??,also where in Yonkers are you.
