I am installing a 12VDC to 5VDC converter, which will power one of two usb connection in my console, the other connection being hooked to the Pioneer head unit. Is there an ignition power source under the console I can splice into safely?

Thanks :)

Lighter socket in the 09 console.

Oh, you want it switched, missed that. Not likely as you'll have to pick of the fuse box or other front switch sources and run a wire back, Fuse it though near the source.

Come to think of it, my XLT has heated seats. I wonder if the switches on the console for that have the power running through them for the seats, or if they are simply switching a relay... most likely a power source for a relay.
