Power Steering and Power Brakes went out

This past Friday I was driving down the road about 30mph, when suddenly my power steering and brakes went out. The car also began to "sputter" as if it was misfiring. A red warning signal saying "check electrical system" flashed on the dash.

I wish I could provide more information but that's about all I can recall. It happened so fast and I've had the vehicle towed to the shop.

I was curious if anyone might know what this could be and the general price range to repair.

Alternator, maybe? What's your battery's voltage?

Did you pop the hood open ? Was the belt still there. Brake booster ?
