I was wondering what is the real difference between power steering fluid and brake fluid one of my friends thinks that he accidentally put powersteering fluid in his clutch resevour would that do anything to the clutch system? and why?

For the later automatics, Mercon V is recommended for both the tranny and power steering, I dunno about the manual though. Brake fluid is still hydraulic fluid so it is probably just a different viscosity.
Good luck.

ones for da steering and ones for da braking.
hheehhe

i have no idea....good luck finding out!

If he put power steering fluid in the hydrulic (sp?) system he is in big trouble! They (PS fluid and brake fluid) are made of colmpetley different substances and are NOT innerchangeable. The rubber components in the hydro. system can not be exposed to any regular petroleum based product (Dextron, PS fluid, etc...). If they are exposed to shch a porduct they will have a chemical reaction and start to swell, rendering the entire hydro. system useless.
