Hey all! I I got a small (hopefully) problem I gotta fix, Two days ago my power steering dumped all its oil on the ground as I got out of the driveway. I'm thinking Its the sector shaft seals cuz the oil is coming from there. I got the pitman arm and C clip off but how do you take out the seals? Do you have to take apart the steering gear? any info is welcomed... Thanks

Yes, you have to take apart the steering gear. Take the entire gearbox out of the explorer. Its held in with 3 bolts I believe and then take apart the clamp on the steering column in the engine compartment and it pulls right out.

Its a messy job, but takes about 10-20 mins to clean it up and all after putting in a new sector seal and then about 30 mins if you are slow like me to get it back in the explorer.
