2013 Ford Explorer Limite
Hello. Hope someone can help me understand. My 2013 Explorer Limited is now undriveable due to the power steering going out. When running a diagnostic scan, the code that came up was C1B00-86. The part associated with this code (apparently) is for a brake booster pressure sensor circuit. Is this related? And how do I find out if my vehicle was included in the 2011/2012 recall for steering gear replacement and or steering angle sensor?? Thank you in advance!!

I thought it was related to this recall as well, but it is not. Even if it had been the car exceeds the 150000 mile cap. With what I've read about that recall and the cost of replacing the steering rack on my dime, I'm kinda hoping this brake pressure sensor is a fix. But also, I have read that the steering angle sensor can easily become misaligned if any kind of service has been done, which I my case it has. Very recently had front struts replaced and an alignment done, so maybe just needs to be realigned??? If that's even possible, I have no clue where that angle sensor is located. Thanks for the suggestion though!!

You probably need a new rack.

Mine was in the $3000 range.
