Well, I just brought my truck home from Cottman transmission. For a rebuild.

I come out of the parking lot and stop at the red light, making a left hand turn. When I turn the steering wheel left or right, it shakes the whole truck pretty bad!

Anyone have any idea of what it could be know?

BTW, I went around the block to bring it back to Cottman, but they had gone home already. :(

sounds like it could just be air in the system.... if it is, it will go away in a day or so, but its a bad sign....

mine used to do it everytime after i jack the truck up

:edit: btw i ended up replacing my rack, tie rods, and pump... not trying to scare ya or anything, lol

Well it didnt do this when I dropped the truck off at Cottman last week. I have about 400 miles left on my extened warranty.

I hope it's just air like you say?

If there is a problem, what is it your saying it could be? Im trying to make since of your post.

Tie rod, pump?

Thanks for your help

it happened just like that, i brought my truck home from belle tire and it would shake soooo bad when i turn, i freaked out i called them back and started b$tching at them. The guy said it was just air in the system and that it would go away, well he was right it did, untill i jacked my truck up later that week and it started doin it again and went away again. long story short i already knew my PS Rack was shot cuz it was leakin... and I knew my PS pump was hardly workin as well. So i ended up replacing the PS pump, PS rack, Tie rods inner and outer(inner come with new rack) upper and lower ball joints all at once.
i'm not really sure what was goin on b4 all that, whether the air was gettin in the system thru the PS pump or the PS rack or what.
but it rides like brand new now :)

I had a similar problem with my rebuilt trans, but it wasn't during turning. Whenever the engine would get to 3,000 rpm in first gear, the car would violently shake and rattle. Anyway, we managed to limp it back in 2nd gear, and they took the tranny apart again and said that they forgot to put a rod in it, and luckily it was free of charge.

Well I hope your right, maybe it's just air? But I doubt it! I dont understand how air could be the problem, unless Cottman did somthing?

Oh well, I guess I'll take it back and see what they say.

Anyone else want to throw their two cents in?

Thanks

No one else has had or seen this problem before?
