The passenger side took me 70mins, including putting my tools away....the short answer on how I fixed it is that once I had the assembly out and open, I cleaned out the fragments of broken pieces and then inserted 3 hex nuts (they happen to be 10mm ones I had handy) into the cavities and they work great.
If anyone wants some help or details on how to do this job, just let me know. For now, the 7 best "lessons learned" in doing it are: 1) Yes, you have to drill a hole to get to the head of one of the mounting bolts, but this is easily done because of the famous "dimple" already noted in the Forum's description (search this site for "Power Window Fix") 2) You don't have to take the door pannel completly off the car, just unscrew it, pop it off, and swing it around with the wires/harnesses still attached (exception: go ahead and rotate and pull out the door panel light bulb) ...you really only need access to the speaker area since the window motor is right behind, and just below, the speaker 3) Don't worry about dropping the motor mounting screws into the door panel when taking them out, they are easy to reach, 4) you don't have to disconnect the motor wires/harness, just rotate the motor around and have the gear end stick out the speaker mounting hole and work with it from there, 5) To get the cover off the gear area, mine had a single "star" screw and luckily I had a bit driver set that had the right size...so heads up if you don't have such a bit driver, you might have to barrow or buy one. 6) Once the cover is off you need to take a small screw driver and gently push off the "C" clip that is on the shaft of the gear...it might be hard to see since it is small...AND BE CAREFULL not to push it off too hard (shooting it across the room) or otherwise drop or loose this very important, tiny part. 7) when putting the mounting screws back in, take a piece of tape (I used black electrical tape) and lightly tape the head of the screws to your socket so you can more easily stick the bolts through the holes in the inner metal door panel and into the motor's threaded holes, without droping them.
