I have a 98 Explorer 5.0L. I can raise and lower all windows from the drivers seat. However the individual switches on the three passenger doors are not working. I thought it might be the window lock switch but I checked that and it checks out ok. There is power to each of the three individual switches but for some reason they will not energize their respective motors. At this point I'm gussing it is a grounding issue. Does anyone know if the three passenger doors have a common ground, and if so does anyone know where the terminal block for this ground might be? Thanks

You're sure the window lock is off?? and/or the switch is OK?

With the switch in the locked position there is no power at the three passenger windows. When the switch is in the unlocked position I do have power at all three passenger windows. This is what leads me to believe that the switch is functioning properly.

Did you ever figure out what the issue was? I have the same problem in my Explorer, except that the rear switches the lights don't even come on, similar as to if the window lock portion was on. Do you have to take the WHOLE door panel off, or can you just take the section out with the switches?

If I recall correctly, someone else had the same problem and it was the drivers door switch/wiring that was bad.

So do just the switches need to be replaced, or the whole wiring?

Did the switches stop working at the same time?

Go to a junkyard find an explorer around the same year pull out just 1 switch, put the switch in your explorer and see if the window works with the new switch. If it does go back and get the other switches, if not sorry to waste your time.

I think this might be caused by the lock/unlock switch. My windows will do this at times, but if I hit the lock/unluck button back and forth a few times fast, they will start working again. Haven't gotten arond to checking the power at the swiitch when it isn't working properly though.

Mine did the exact same thing, and after about two months of not working it started working again and has been fine for a few weeks..
