I'm not sure how yours works but my Sony Xm add on 'senses' power and turns itself on. You could hook straight to 12volt power and it would always be on. If you've currently got it hooked to the power on your HU and that is connected to the car's original power for the stereo than the ignition shuts down the system to provide full power to cranking and there's not much you can do. Good luck.
i don't see any way to defeat that...i've got a skyfi as well. if there's a way around this, you may be best trying to ask delphi about it. maybe there's a hidden feature in the programming. (i.e. hold 2 buttons for extra menu, etc.)
I guess I am not sure why you would want your radio on during cranking. When cranking my engine, I want all available current going to the starter motor...
best bet is probably to possibly rewire the cig lighter to come straight out of the battery, or check with delphi. try doing a search on www.xmfan.com they may be able to help you.
