XM Radio ???

I wouldn't even listen to Stern if he were on XM. I scored XM for the music. When XM had that free week of Opie & Anthony I listened for 5 minutes and forgot all about it. I move back and forth between 3-4 channels most of the time because they're playing great tunes on those channels. My wife is pretty much doing the same thing in her car.

I liked Stern years ago. We cant get him here so I look fwd to hearing him again. I only hope the radio show is better than what they show on TV. I think his divorce may have ruined him but I'll give him a try. I just wonder what channel they will put him on?

Cyber- have you gotten the units yet? I'm curious as to you needing the adaptor as well? The HU literature didn't mention requiring it.

I got Sirius for two main reasons
Hair Nation ( 80's metal )
and the NFL package.
Never miss a RAVENS game.

yea i got the HU and the XM tuner, but when i tried to hook them up. it made no sense...one would not hook up to the other. i looked around on the net to find out if i needed some kind of cable to hook the two together...after several hours online i came to the conclusion that i needed an adapter...here is how it needs to be set up..

1)HU XM campatable Unit.
2)hooks up to the XM Adapter for alpine(Adapter needs to be specific for HU) via a AI-NET (port on Alpine Unit)
3)then XM tuner hooks up to adapter.
4)then antenna hooks up to XM Tuner and is mounted outside the X

Adapter comes with cables to hook up to HU and XM tuner.
XM Tuner comes with about 20ft. wired antenna.

even if you have a XM compatable HU, you still need an adapter for the brand of your HU and a XM tuner that recieve the signal from XM. same goes for Sirius. but instead of beaing a XM tuner, it would be a Sirius Tuner.
hopes this help anyone else who was woundering about installin' XM Radio

I have a Pioneer XM ready HU. I bought the Pioneer XM tuner. Didn't need any special adapter. The HU plugged into the tuner and voila, XM radio through my HU. That's why I decided not to go with another brand tuner (Terk, Roady etc). While my setup lacks some of the features of the other brands, it works for me. As soon as you start mixing and matching brands, you need those adapters.

How much was that Pioneer XM tuner? and how big is it?

I don't remember what I paid for it, but got a good deal on eBay (brand new). It's not small, but fits comfortably under my driver side rear seat. Check out Pioneer for more info. Not going to do you much good with Alpine HU.

I bought the RCA adapter that goes into the back of the Pioneer. That way I could have my Roady2 or mp3 player going into the head unit. I also wanted to be able to get XM in my house.

XM6

XM1

BTW, Ai-NET is Alpine's "AUX input". Though, you still need the cable. At most retail stores, these two pieces are $100 together, so don't be surprised.

You can get an Ai-NET to RCA adapter for $15. That's all he needs.

opie and anthony got taken off by me cause of that big thing they did with the s3x in the church, howard's still on and jnealg, the stuff on the TV is pretty much the radio show IMO, they just take the episodes with naked girls and put them on tv, i still like him though, he's great

Here is my Sirius tuner under my drivers seat.
I would imagine the XM tuner would be about the same size
