this is a general powertrain only thread (plz)

I have an 03 xlt Sport trac 4.0 sohc
the powertrain is all stock BUT i want to add one thing, front and rear lockers
I know very little about them except for what they do. so anyone with some suggestions or willing to give me a 30 second crash course on locker types would be appreciated.

Welcome!

I've combined and moved your posts to the Transmissions, Transfer Cases, & Differentials section where the best answers to this question will likely come from.

How's it going mate? Welcome! O.k. you've got a couple of good option's in my opinion anyway.
1) power trax no-slip in the rear and selectable locker in the front (e-tec,arb air)
2) 2 x selectable locker's (see above)
3) actually that's it.

Think about how often you'll use them, where you want to go and how often you're on the tar. I'm going 2 x arb because I love the way my X handles on the road and don't want to comprimise that just yet, Power trax no slip is s'pose to be real good for our 3rd gen's (rear) so do abit of research on them and see what you think.

Rear diff: Ford 8.8 31 spline (check the door sticker for ratio's, lsd or open, and axle code and refer it back to here if your not sure)
Front diff: Dana 30 27 spline
