powertrax no slip vs. lock rite

So I called about these two products and they guy on the phone told me that they are virtually the same and one is about $60 more and that will give it a better road performance(nice, not totally necessary) so my question is which one do I get. When I wheel it want it to lock up, I love my Ez locker in the front, lock rite is essentially the same thing, so what give powertrax no slip the advantage, I did search and expect to hear from Jason25 and Jdraper cause they are big fans, do you guys think the ez locker or lock rite will be a bit more wicked on the pavement or what? Even considering a mini-spool that I will take out and put in before a serious wheelin trip(like that will happen, it will be in for good)

I'm not sure how much of a difference there would be between the Lockright and the No-Slip. It would be nice to hear from someone who is running a Lockright. After running with the No-Slip for a while, I notice that I'm staying locked quite a bit when I corner from a dead stop. I will say that when the No-slip releases, I don't feel it at all if I'm coasting, but you definitely notice it under power. As for cornering on the highway, I don't notice it at all. HOWEVER, when cornering from a stop sign, I almost always have a wheel chirping. I've tried approaching stop signs in different ways (turning into the corner before I stop, etc.) but it doesn't seem to make much of a difference.

For highway driving, it is definitely transparent. For city driving, you notice it more.


Anyone out there running a Lockright that wants to get together and compare notes?? Maybe we can do a couple of experiments to see how they stack up against each other.
 






hmm, how do you know when it is unlocking. Maybe it is the 9 inches of lift and all the other components that make my truck such a mess of noises and clunks but I rarely feel any lock or unlock from my front locker, it is a little tricky to steer when I am on the gas with it in 4x4 but then I can run it up a hill or over an obstacle and drive away and not see any real "unlocking" perhaps on a flat drive surface such as a street there will be a difference. I might go EZ locker wich is essentially the same thing so I keep front and rear the same and run a couple sets of the same pins for replacement.

I am with Jdraper. I notice the same things he does, only time it is noticeable is at slow speeds on the pavement, or gravel. The only other thing he didn't mention that I have noticed, is more play in the rear driveline. Meaning when you put it in gear or park there is more moton before it "catches". I am a happy customer! They do claim that the lockrite is less transparent and will actually click like the gears hitting going around a corner.

When it unlocks, it "pops" or thumps. I feel the lockup more than the unlock though. When I am leaving a stopsign, and I'm not straight, one of the tires will chirp for just a fraction of a second, I feel a very slight thump underneath, and it's engaged.

Taxxman2k is right, there is a lot more play in the drivetrain than when it was stock. I can roll the truck back and forth a couple of inches when it is in park now, but that's normal for a Powertrax.

The other thing I forgot to mention is that there is a very subtle "shimmy" to the rear end when I hit the throttle on a curve on the highway. What it feels like (and probably is) is the locker is open when I hit the throttle and only one wheel is driving, then the axle locks and drives both wheels, changing the thrust direction. It only happens for a split second.

I'm also VERY satisfied with it. Off road, it might as well be a spool back there.
