 Greetings!
Does anybody know of any companies that makes a prerunner-style light bar for a 1993 Explorer or Ranger?
I want to mount a pair of lights on my X, and I find that I can preserve my gas milage and keep wind noise down when putting lights directly in front of the vehicle.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I bought a ProComp prerunner for the Ranger (I think the year was 93-97) and had the mounts modified and it bolted right up. I also mounted a set of Piaa 40 driving lights on the front and have had no problems with wind noise or anything like that.

Yeah, the prerunner has always worked for me in the past. I put a light bar on the roof of a Bronco, and it sounded like a continuous tornado overhead.
I believe the corners of the ProComp prerunner you alluded to, is for a different bumper configuration than what I have. Thanks anyway. Another reply to my question brought up James Duff Enterprises as a prerunner bumper supplier, and they were correct. I will go with the James Duff product.

james duff is good stuff.... i plan on buying the front receiver hitched bumper w/ no plate tabs and arma/coating as soon as i get the money.... if you need a testimonial of their quality, kris guilbeux (sp) is sponsered by them and is also their explorer test truck.....

The one on my truck is from "Racer-X-cessories" in San Diego, Ca. Its been modified with stronger light mounting tabs, plus another set up on top of the bar for a total of 4 lights.

It cost about $100.00 new.

Are these Racer-X-cessories on the web? I'd like to
check this out. So far, the James Duff prerunner is tops
on my shopping list. It mounts directly to the frame in
place of the stock bumper. Thanks for the reply.

I don't think they have a website. Its just your standard pre-runner style, bumper mounted brushguard.
