bad pics? they look aight to me, nice setup, nice clean work with the amp, keeps it from having spare wires haning out behind the box

Hey mrsteve. I like the set up. Especially where the amp is. How many watts in that system? Oh and how did you place the woofers so they wont move when u ridin in tha car?

Peace,
Audio Warlock

The amp is bridged in mono at 2 ohms but there are no specs on what this amp could put out at 2 ohms bridged. I'm guessing it's around 75-90 watts to each sub.

As for sliding around there is no problem with that. The box weighs roughly 15-20 pounds and the carpet-on-carpet doesn't allow it to move around. I've had no problems with the box sliding.

Lookin good Mr. Steve. I personally would clean up the wiring a little. That is if you plan to be like "Yeah, check out my ****". Replace the grill with some plexi and your smoking.

How much of the cargo area does that box eat up? Is it still usable back there?

Yeah these pics are a little old. I took them in August and I am just now posting them. Since the pics I've cleaned everything up. It was a little bit of a challenge. There isn't a whole lot of room back there.

If you all can't tell that's one of my infinity crossovers mounted next to the amp. Both X-overs are mounted on MDF next to the amp.

Original I was gonna make a carpeted enclosure for the amp and place plexi over the opening. There is just no room back there. I'm contemplating mounting my sub and and an amp for you separates in my rear seats with a plexi grille. But this is all after I get my new stuff. The new system is gonna be 1 12" powered by something around 350 RMS. Each separate should get 50-60 watts. This should be done within the next few months. I gotta wait till ski season is over with. Skiing eats almost as much of my money as the Explorer does.

The box isn't all that big. There is a good 8" on either side of the box and probably 2 feet from the box to the cargo hatch. I still fit plenty of stuff back there. But if I gotta do some serious hauling I just take the subs out.

Steve

thats an ill spot for the amp, i like that. youve got the power cable crossing the engine bay and mixing up with the patches in the back? no noise??

I like what skippman said.. you know how that area is black when the sub is there.. get a peice of black lexan and lay it inside that grille, then it will be nice N clean all the time, hey, how do you get that grille off BTW? I juts about broke mine trying to get it off..

Very nice, I like it, looks real clean

Exploder99 - I've got no noise coming through the subs at all. They sound great.

DarkFox1 - I was going to make an amp rack to fit in there but since I plan on getting new amps I'm gonna wait and mount them in the rear seats behind plexi-grilles. The stock sub grille comes off with a screwdriver.

hehe, a screwdriver, a ton of encouragement, and some vulgarities... I broke one of those tabs trying to get the thing off...
