Price check on tranny rebuild?

I just bought a A4ld from phoenix remanufactured transmission w/ transgo shift kit, kevlar clutches and HD torque converter $1109.5 +two way shipping and core charge ($510).next weekend I am going to hit the trails and see how it holds up, so far the shifts seem to be quick and firm.

I've been rebuilding an A4LD and posting pics of this process (MY A4LD Diary). I know from experience gleaned that if you replace wearing hard parts and do it right, there is NO way anyone can make money selling a $1000 or less rebuild. I do not subscribe to the "you get what you pay for" mentality that justifies inflated prices, but I know that in this case, you DON'T get what you DON'T Pay for. It's no wonder A4LD rebuilds don't last when all they do is soft parts and frictions.
