Is this a vacuum pump? It had no wires, and one hard line to a canister. It was in a 71 F100, and if i don't need it, it's coming out!

I dont have a answer but can you post a pic of the entire truck

I will, But i'm working on it right now, so it might be a few minutes....

Man you gonna have to find an old timer to ID that since i have never seen anything like it in a F100

....i am going to answer but i am no old timer...:p:

...to tell you the truth, i have had several of them trucks and can't make it out in the pics...for some reason i want to say it...naw...can i see a pic of the whole engine compartment...

where does that front line go to? It's part of the ABS system I think:p:

...btw, if by any chance it was going to a v8 juice can, usually black paint, looking thing, it is needed...for some reason i want to say it looks like a aux fuel pump with that plumbing...the old fuel pumps were mounted on the bottom of the motor and were mechanical though...
...back then, so i hear, acc items such as a/c, aux. tanks, and such dealers had installed by local shops using whatever was handy...talk about not being able to match parts, lol...

...stic-o may be on to something...brakelines and fuel lines were pretty much plumbed the same...;)
...plus it's sitting right in front of the missing master cylinder...

Photobucket is being crappy right now, I'll get more pics up though

Like I said where does that line go? It's only one of a few things. Vacuum lines use rubber not hard lines. So it's brake fluid, trans fluid, power steering fliud, blinker fluid...something..

...i'm going to take a stab at this and say those hard lines are not attached except the one stic-o asked about... what is puzzling me it looks like it's got a thermal spring on the rear of it like the old auto chokes did and it has a cork gasket like the old fuel pumps????
