Hello
Have a car Explorer 2005
When I run the four-wheel drive both high or low and when I trend to the right or left he heard the voice of Snap at the bottom, I notice the iron was nuzzling interconnected and the car is moving slowly as if something is trying to stop it.
With the knowledge that the former owner of the vehicle does not have a running four-wheel drive before I bought

I hope the statements of the reason for the problem

thank you

Someone feel free to jump on and correct me, but I believe your 4x4 should only be used when the tires can slip, as in mud or snow. There is no provision for different speeds between the front and rear drive shafts as in the large transfer cases. When you turn, the shafts spin at different speeds. If the tires can't slip, such as on dry pavement or hard packed gravel,, torque builds up in the drive line and dissipates itself rather harshly when enough is built up. This can and will cause damage to the transfer case and drive line, snapping a shaft or knuckle/u-joint.

Exactly what he said.

You should not drive in 4 wheel drive mode in dry pavement. Because when you turn left or right the front tires are not spinning at the same speed as the rear tires and this causes the drive line to bind.

4 wheel drive mode is for situations where the tires can slip when turning. Like dirt, sand, snow, mud, and etc.
