I had a leased 2006 Explorer XLT and turned it in for an 08 Explorer XLT. I decided to take the OEM runningboards off and put them on my 08. I took the boards off, and could only get to the brackets on the driver's side of my 06 as it had rear A/C so I couldn't get to the passenger side. I left those brackets, and am going to order new ones. I took the stock plastic trim off of the 08 and put the brakets in place to mount the running boards. Problem I found is there are holes for the screws that hold the brackets in place, but they are not threaded. Is there a part I'm missing? Anyone have any info or exploded installation instructions I can look at? My wife is pregnant and REALLY wants me to put these on. Thanks!

You probably need some cage nuts or nut clips. They usually rectangular shaped and slide on over the hole.
