Problem shifting from 1-2

If you look back at page one, I had suggested to check the transmission with a pressure gauge. 155k miles is pretty much the limit for an EPC solenoid, so it might be causing a low pressure situation. It won't shift without adequate hydraulic pressure.

BrooklynBay, I did remember that in your first post, that's why I went and bought a (supposed) rebuilt and tested unit from a shop to fix the problems if it was one of the solenoids or something like that. Any idea what would cause the hum in the trans? I seem to hear it more and more (helps if I listen) I guess my next opurchase is a pressure gauge for the tranny and see what she's doing. I drove it to work today and still got the same code about solenoid B being stuck or in a closed position.

The fight continues

Noises are hard to determine since sounds travel. I once bought a defective torque converter. It made a terrible howling noise when it was cold, but went away when it warmed up. The torque converter lasted for a week until it went. I had no gears. The transmission felt like it was in neutral. The funny thing was that the noise was intermittent. Does your noise seem to be intermittent, or temperature related?

The noise is intermittant, I hear it though when it's warm or cold but it gets significantly less when I put it in gear or goes away.

I'm also having the 1-2 shift problem.

I got codes reading P1756 and P0732, but I'm not clear on the location of SSB which is indicated for replacement. Is this the one located by EPC?

I looked at the photo in a related thread showing the solenoids, but I can't make out most of the red designations on the solenoids.

Also, anything special (or precautions) about removing this one?

Thanks!
