My 95 XLT no longer starts using the key w/o holding the override button , also the alarm no longer "chirps" when I lock the doors . I have the red button located on the dash and also the override button under the steering column . I've tried resetting the alarm following the owners manual but thats only for the factory alarm. Also tried disconnecting the battery and that didn't help either. I know that the truck works so whats the problem , but it's not working properly . If my wife or daughters asks to borrow it I have to explain how to start it and they always wind up calling me saying they can't get it to start . I don't want them stranded someplace because they can't get it started ! Thanks .
