2000 Explorer XLT
I'm not sure where this should have been posted, but ill post it in here. i have a 2000 explorer w/ 125k on it. it recently started to jerk when im driving down the road(kinda like i hit a bump, but there is no bump.). i dont think it's motor related because the rpms dont change when it happens and the transmission shifts smooth all the time. so, i dont think thats it. i have it jacked up right now and i checked the u-joints and all those seem fine. it does it whether it's in 4wd or auto. although, it seems less violent in 4wd. and so far it's only does it when the roads are covered in snow. but, then again the roads have been covered in snow for the past week... any ideas? what the next thing to check?

you might just be hitting packed snow and it breaking apart under the truck or the hard build up of snow that collects in the wheel wells are falling off and getting ran over

does it too often for that... ill keep driving it and then when it fails completely ill fix it or junk the exploder if it costs too much.

im not sure what to check hopefully more people will come on its still early but i mean if you feel its unsafe i wouldnt keep driving it. the 2000 doesnt have the option for 2wd does it like my 95 so maybe its the auto 4x4 kicking in and out ?
