Hey guys,
The spring on the driver side door broke causing the tension on the handle to cease. Sometimes the door wont unlock- which I am assuming is because the automatic lock thinks the handle is being help in the up position. This forces me to go to the passenger side and open it from the inside. I put a lighter spring in (all I could find) and it puts tension on the handle, but once in a while it will still fail to unlock. The reason this is a big problem is I have a car alarm (viper) and it will trip the alarm once in a while. Do I just need a heavier spring? Any ideas?

Ah thanks so so so much! That helps a LOT!!!!

I attached a spring to the manual lock rod to help the mechanism unlock and it has opened every time since. I could see the broken spring within the mechanism without taking anything apart.

I am having a problem with my locks as sometimes the key wont turn at all and I feel like I could snap it off inside the lock. I lube it up with graphite and it seems to help for a bit. Will replacing the lock mechanism fix my problem?

Mine did this sometimes too...Pop the panel off and hold slight upward pressure on the lock rod..Try locking and unkocking several times to see if this solves your problem. If so, simply hook a light spring to your lock rod and you are done :)

Thanks

I'll give it a shot this morning. I wanted to replace my burnt out door lights and pop out my stereo screen for painting anyways.
