Make sure your thermostat is working right, and check your water pump. BTW moderaters will get on your back for your sig, it is supposed to be 4 lines at the most!

PEACE

Yep your right its 6 i just checked

Do you let air out of your tires? I aired down to 15-20 psi and my truck overheated and the tranny boiled over and almost fried. I air down to 10-11 psi now no problems. (on soft beach sand)

Same Problem!

Same problem with my '91 when I took it to the beach. It wouldn't go into the red zone, but moved pretty close! After the first time, I changed the thermostat and flushed out the cooling system. The gauge still moved up!

It happened on the road, also. On I-68 going west from Cumberland, Maryland, there is a long 7 mile or so upgrade. By the time I got to the top of the hill, I had to turn off the A/C and it still got close to red.

Whatever the cause of the gauge moving up so high may be, it hasn't affected it.

No such problems with my '97.
