problems to look for in a 91 xlt v8

I just picked up a 97 explore xlt v8 with 77000 miles for 8000. I thought it was a good deal so I bought it. This is my first Ford and I hope it`s a good one. I wanted the v8 because I have read some reviews saying that the SOHC v6 may have some recall problems.
Anyway, are there any problems I should look out for or any tips anyone can give me to keep my new Ford running long and strong.

Welcome to the site! The V8 should give you plenty of good service. Just keep up with the regular maintenance and you should have no problem. It is a well regarded, sturdy engine.....
