problems with 01 s/t

ok i just bought this explorer and i love it but im having a couple issues,first when its hot it dosnt start very good,if i drive it then drive then shut it off and come back it dosnt start good,when i go to start it it stumbles until i baby the gas pedal a little bit then it will start to rev up then it runs perfect again,the engine light is on and i will read the codes but i still dont know what would cause a hot start problem.? fuel pressure regulator???

problem number 2
door locks will lock just fine but have a problem unlocking,i have loose handles but in order to get the door to unlock i have to hit the unlock with the keyless entry and use the key together to get it to unlock,both doors are funny with this???

Get the codes read and that will limit our guessing. Hard start could be clogged fuel filter, low fuel pressure ( pump or regulator) bad IAC valve, open EGR valve ...... all a guess.

You have to use the remote AND the key at the same time to unlock the door? Day-yum! Are your locks really dirty? Does it unlock with the key without the remote? Will it unlock electrically from the inside button?

it tryes to unlock with the switch but it just dosnt pop all the way open.dirty is a possibility,just seems wierd to me,not familure with these cars and there little kwirks

Not up on the locks. What about a voltage problem to your fuel pump? Or a bad ground? Is the battery up to snuff? And alternator! Sounds weird, but thats where we are at with a buddy's truck.

well i got it starting better,looks like the idle screw backed out all the way and it was causing it to not start good,now it starts perfect all the time,still need to figure out the locks im leaning towards wore out actuators any guesses? only way to get the drivers open is to play with the keyless entry and turn the key or from the inside pull the handle,on the passanger side the handle wont do it without hitting the unlock kinda back and forth then it finnally pops up

Search around. There is something about a small return spring inside near the lock bars that one end breaks on and causes your problem
