hi all,

Im new here maybe some1 has had this problem b4 and could shine some light on it for me :).

I recently bought a 97' explorer sport from a used car dealer. prefect conditions. little rust on the run boards but nothing i couldnt handle. it has 74k miles when i bought it and only has 83k now. the problem is it has auto trac control 4x4. i noticed when im driving down the road or highway above 50 it kicks on countinuously the 4x4 low mode.. and when i park in the drive way and turn it hard right it makes a grinding noise muck like a whine or some sort. then when i take a full right turn it bucks and bucks. i wonder if the 4x4 is stuck on i dont know im not the big into cars. but im trying to solve it. when i first got it one of the end cuplinks where broken and was replaced. yet it still dose this when i turn either left or right? anyone have any clues?

thnx in advance Luke aka Fordinator :exp:

Welcome To The Forum! If you haven't tried already if you think the 4X4 is stuck on, disconnect the battery for 10 minutes or so, then try driving it to see if the problem persists. The bucking does sound like both front wheels are trying to spin at the same speed as if it is in 4X4.
