i just installde a cd player in my 91 explorer and the volume is very loud for some reason, on my sony cd player the volume knob will go to 50 but i cant even go past 7 without being extremely loud, even when you push the buttons on the sterio it is loud. and it is weird, when you put the volume low you can hear fuzzing in the speakers(like when you have a cable reciever on a television that isnt cable ready and you put the volume really high on the tv and really low on the reciever) when i installed the sterio there where three orange wires on the pluggs i bought so i diddent have to cut the factory wires and i diddent use any of them, and one was labled dimmer. and could it have any thing to do with the factory amp? Im pretty stumped with this one. I had the sterio in my other car and it worked fine, and also the stock sterio worked fine as well. any one ever have this happen to them? thanks.

Oh yea, i tested myself and im not deaf, lol

i had the same problem in my 92 explorer when i got my JVC deck put in. you need a factory amp bypass harness. You can get them at best buy.
