Project for someone

Saw this the other day and thought it would be a cool rig to do a 4wd conversion (and a 5.0L swap).

1984 Ford Ranger Rollalong. Ever seen one?? 2.8 L V6, C3 automatic transmission, approx. 124k miles, dual rear wheels, aftermarket cd player, etc. This vehicle has lived in a desert southwest climate. There is zero rust on this truck, except for very minor areas that are noted in the photos. Features a pop-up top, furnace, refrigerator, stove, sink, and a brand new, never used flush toilet. I bought this rig with the intention of doing a V8 swap, but circumstances changed and I've gone with another, bigger rig. I am asking $2500 for it, which is less thank I've put into it. I have done the following: 2 new premium batteries, 6 new tires, new brakes, new roof vent, black septic holding tank, and new flush toilet. I have also had the transmission professionally rebuilt, and it has approximately 250 miles on it. All in all, this is a well maintained, good running, all around great little rig. For more info or pictures, please feel free to email me. Karl

I'd sure like to have it. But just too many projects going on now.
A set of surf rod holders on the front with some large flotation tires and that would look good on the beaches of NC. Outer Banks or Montauk NY.

That's cool, I wish I had the cash.

An Econoline back grafted to a Ranger - ahaha thats great! Even the lines on the side match.

I wish you did not mention this. Now I'll have to check the want adds or salvage yards of an Econoline camper. Wonder what years they made them?
the front half would be no problem.

Pop-up tops are available as aftermarket conversions for the E-series. But if you're going to go through all that work, you can probably save some cash and use a pop-up from a local junk yard and modify it to fit the E-series roof (or modify the roof to fit the pop-up)

He also put quite a bit of work into the drivetrain because the axles were converted/swapped to run a dually setup. Its probably not needed because my 1-ton van is an SRW but I'm sure that dually handles a tad better. Toyota had a dually axle that was pretty small - used on the old tiny U-haul box trucks. In fact, now that I think about it, that vehicle is probably using the Toyota axles - the picture in the CL ad shows about 6 lugs for the front.

So yeah all in all, that 2.5k he's asking for isnt so bad considering the amount of work put into it.
