Can anyone explain what the proper way of applying sealant between the knuckle and the front wheel bearing hub of the 2004 Ford Explorer?
When I removed the original wheel bearing hub, there was some black goop that was applied in the factory to keep moisture out. I didn't reapply any when replacing the wheel bearing the first time, and now see more corrison thatn I would like to see.
Do you just squirt some on the mating surfaces and then tighten down the bolts that are used to hold everything together? What kind of sealant do you use?
