I was just wondering if anyone new where I can purchase new puddle light lens covers for the puddle lights. The tabs that hold the lens on is broken and would like to replace them. Any help would be appreciated

From what I have found out, you can not buy the lens! You have to buy the whole mirror! I tried to just buy the lens last fall, even from a stealership, and found it cheaper the get the mirror from a junkyard! If you have heated mirroes, get the unheated ones and just swap out the lens, cheaper!

I looked at used mirror assemblies on the web but couldn't be sure I was getting a good one or the correct one. I didn't even try a dealership. When looking for new ones I found what I needed at usaautoparts and had a new assembly within a week for roughly 1/2 of the price at a dealer.

anyone know for sure the bulb #? I looked in the wife's Monty manual, but it didn't list it, or I was looking for the wrong name.

thanks.

I can't believe it, a piece that could break so easily and they don't even sell a replacement for it.....sooo frustrating. I wasn't even the one who broke it. The person who had it before me had broken them and glued them back on!!!!!!!!!

Its the same bulb you put in the license plate. 168.

Also to the OP I read a thread a while back where someone said they made covers out of CD cases and I tried it myself and it works well.

If the lens isnt cracked just glue it back in with some silicone. Noone is going to see under your mirror anyway.

I have also seen people cut squares out of CD cases and glue those in.

On my 98 its a 921 bulb, same base as the 168 or license plate bulb but bigger and brighter. 921 was the original I took out.

I totally hear you. I thought the exact same thing when I called around and was told to buy a new mirror.

Plenty of puddle lights in a walmart parking lot.
