Hello every one . Been a while since Ive been on here .Been kind of busy at work .
I have a question ,If any one can help . I am getting ready to pull the engine
back out of my wifes 94 explorer (limited) .It has a 4.0 engine . I need to replace the rear seal again . I think the woman at advance gave me the wrong one . Its leaking "I think " That s where Its at .
Any way can you use the lower intake bolts to pull the engine ? I am making a plate to bolt to the intake and use my engine leveler to bolt to this .
I donot want to mess the lower intake up. I figure if you can use the intake on a v8 why not on this . I want some info before I do this .
Thanks Joey

Personally I wouldn't. Its pretty thin in spots.are you just pulling the motor? If so a leveler is not really needed.simple and easy way is to just wrap straps around the exhaust manifold

Thank you for this info . I was not sure on this . it was a idea . I did not want to go thru dismantling half the upper engine again to pull it . Guess I better not do no short cuts .
thanks again for the info .I will let you know how it all goes . I replaced the rear seal
already. Its leaking oil on the back of the engine . I think its leaking here . Cant see where its leaking unless I pull the engine. Either I got the wrong seal or the wannabe parts lady (who is not there no more ) at Advance Auto gave me the wrong one .There is like 4 different ones for the 4.0 engine .
Thanks again Joey

Shouldn't need to pull anything off but the fan

engines back in

Hello every one . Finally got the ole ex back on the road . :D
Pulled the engine from the ex to replace the rear seal . Had to get it from "Auto zone" . Dumb ass kid at advance auto didnt even know what I had .
Any way pulled the engine ,Pulled the fly wheel , The rear seal was hanging out
Took it out with my hand . I have a 94 ex .The woman at advance auto gave me one for a 96 ex . I should of known it was wrong when it went in too easy .
Got the right one this time and everything is good . Knock on wood . Going back to Amish country the first weekend of April . Hopefully we have nice weather . I'M ready for spring . We are suppose to get another snow storm
Tuesday . Here we go again . So till later . You all be careful
