Purchased a reman 5R55S installed it. After ~500 miles it was shifting really bad, cracked case... Advice?

I would agree to not want any of that trans be reused. The crack likely happened during operation, you don't want the same event happening again with another trans case. I would hope that there is something to find, to see inside the transmission that points to the cause.
