I am in negotiations to purchase a new 2016 Explorer XLT.

The salesperson asked if I know anyone that works at Ford.
There are some really great incentives if you know someone.

does anyone have any information on this type of incentive.
I do know about the x plan...
Very curious if anyone here is a Ford Employee. Do I know you?

TIA for any information concerning the Employee/ neighbor program.

:)

Welcome to the Forum.:wavey:
Arrange to take one of the FordService reps here out to lunch and then you could say that you know someone. ;)

Been here 2 years and you finally let yourself be known!! lol. Good to hear from you.
I have heard of the "employee pricing plan" that Ford promotes every now and then but that usually only happens when sales are really sluggish. It's not much different than the xplan pricing and supposedly lets you buy at what a Ford employee would pay.
I'm not going to try and play "matchmaker" like Peter....lol
Good Luck!!

Good Idea Peter!!
I have a long tan trench coat and can meet up with them
in a dark alley!! jk

The sales guy made it sound like this only happens now and then.
Some secret treasure I guess.

Suddenly this car buying is becoming a chess match to me.:D

Depending on vehicle it is actually MUCH better then Xplan.

With A/D plan, you save the $400-$600 advertising fee as well as you get the 3% kickback on MSRP pricing.

So a $52,000 Platinum will net you an additional $2,300 below invoice plus all Ford advertised rebates.

Ford was running this back in January but you needed a competitors car in order to get it (Ford required a copy of the vehicle registration).

I was also fortunate to purchase during the Ford employee pricing plus an additional $1000 Costco member discount (worked out to approximately $7000 discount, not including dealership discount).

Unfortunately it's too late to taker advantage of that right now if you're not already a member. Had to have been a member before Feb. 29th, 2016. They changed the rules a little.

I am a Costco Member.. but I had to fill paperwork and then they sent to
a dealer of their choosing. Not a good deal.
Got a better pricing on my own.

Maybe I am missing where they had the $1,000 extra off of
any deal from my dealer of choice.

According to my salesman, all he requests is that you show him the membership card, he photocopies it and puts it in his folder with the order. If you read the fine print on the offer, no where does it state it is a dealer to be chosen by Costco.
The only change on the offer from previous years is that now you have had to have been a member prior to Feb. 29th, 2016 for this year's offer. In the past you only had to be a member 3 months prior to submitting the vehicle order. The deal is valid at any dealer displaying the Costco incentive.

Not sure where you're located, but here in Ontario Canada, the Costco discount is a regular promo (comes and goes every few months).
As mentioned by Peter, they took a photocopy of my card, but there was also a form that the dealership got me to sign and then it was sent off for their reimbursement.

Did not purchase with current promo's.
Still too much $$$

Thank you all for the information.

Who knows, maybe next promotion will finally push me to purchase.

Carry on!!
