I don't have a push bar on mine but I have seen how weak they are. Small grille guards like the one you are looking at don't offer that much protection. Im not sure if you want it just for the look or for the protection, but if you want more protection, I would look for deals on full out brush guards.

It looks like its something you have to drill in to your bumper. That can't be good.

Actually those are stout enough. They are NOT like the Westin safari bars that dont give any kind of protection what-so-ever. The push bars mount to the frame. I would be sure to ask if you have to cut the bumper any.

You definetly want something that fastens to the frame, or else its just another piece trim that can break easily.

thats a go-rhino bar, which is actually a very well known name in law enforement vehicle equipment. that one WILL offer a great deal of protection(its called a pushbar because its made to handle the stress of "pushing" a car off of the road) you WILL have to drill onto your frame, but the strength will be worth it IMO. that will DEFINETLY be more protection than a bar made for looks/mounting lights on. if you try to push a car with a westin bar, chances are youre going to have 2 damaged bumpers and a ruined safari bar.

just thought id reply again and give you a website if youre lookin at serious quality pushbars. http://store.yahoo.com/sirennet/pushbars.html ive ordered from sirennet, their lead time is a bit long(took me a month to get my arrowstik) but they have good customer service and great prices. if you plan to actually be doing any pushing, the setina bars come with rubber pads to they wont destroy anything.

I have to disagree with you. While I do think the Westin bar is more for cosmetics than anything else, it was strong enough to withstand running into the back of someone at around 25mph+. The brackets bent but the bar itself was fine with no damage what-so-ever to my front bumper.

Maybe it was the way you hit but I had a Westin safari bar that totally bent with a little hit from someone that backed up into me.

How much is that one listed for? I checked out a lot of the Go Rhino stepbars. Same think, but it also has a step on it in the middle. I think I saw them for around $200 or $180 or so for the solid black. I believe I found it at truckaccessories.com. The site takes forever to click through everything though unfortunately.

EE wants $250 pluss shipping but I did find a decently priced bar made by Setina PB300AS cops use em u can check it out at www.sirennet.com I think i may go with that one. Its only $150 there.
