put windstar 2000 radio in 98 exp now it wont work

I got a cd/tape player double din radio out of a junked windstar to replace my cd/tape player while the screen is being repaired and it won't power up are the radios not compatible even though its the same model?

It's the same radio. For future reference I use this website sometimes for interchange info. http://www.oemradios.com/ford_radios.php maybe you got a defective radio. It's never hard to check fuses I would start with that then see if you can find another vehicle to test it in. Don't waste too much time most junkyards have like a 7 day exchange policy. The link I provided should make it easy to see what vehicles you can get another radio if you find yours is bad.
