I have a 94 XLT and I was wanting to swap the 4.0 with a V8. I was wondering what would I have to change and about how much would it cost to upgrade to a V8? Any answers or advice would be very helpful.

Thanks,

If you search on your topic you may find a lot of info.

Just a few quick numbers: a really good adapter kit would be about $750-$1000, there are lesser kits so that should be a top figure. The engine price will depend on alot, mileage of the engine, condition of the engine, with or without the engine harness, and where you are buying it. A new engine without the harness will run arouond $3000-$3500, a junker with the harness and alot of milieage might be $600-$1000. The next thing is a raditor for about $400 and a harness if you didn't get one with the engine for another $400.
Last but not least the trans and adapter to the transfer case for about $1000.

NOT Cheap is it ?

The above figures are based on you doing the work.
Figure on at least 10 days to convert it over, if you work on it every night and weekends.

What fun we have here.

Good Luck,
