Stupid me. Pulled an engine apart and didn't note what way the connecting rods were. There is a nub on one side of the connecting rod, does that go to the center of the engine or face the outside. It a 2001 3.0l

Thanks

well on my motor witch is a 4.0 so maybe total different the only thing that i can tell is there is a notch in the piston top and that goes facing forward.

That I've seen but on one side of the rod theirs a little nub. My manual says to put the oil squirt hole, in the rod, in a certain direction but I don't see a hole anywhere just that nub?

mine has that nod and a hole in the middle of it but my manual says nothing about direction for that, just the piston.do all pistons and rods all face the same way?witch way does the nod face with the piston notch facing forward?i think that hole is just there for oil to escape from the rod bearings, doesnt really matter where it goes from there.

After readingyour reply I took another look at the pistons. I guess it doesn't matter. With the notch forward one side the nub will be facing out and the other facing in.

Thanks for all the help

you never took the piston apart right?
