my friend wants to put 33's on his 93'explorer 2wheel, i know i've seen y'all talk about the shackles n coil spacers. where can whe find em and how much lift would he get out of it. also is there any other ways to lift this rig. without a lift kit.
He will only get about 1.5" of lift from this, not enough to fit 33's, maybe 31's but not 33's. People with the earlier model X's usually put a 5.5" lift on there to fit 33's. You could get the shacles from www.desertrat.com call them up and tell 'em you need the shackles.
man im running 31's on my stock ride and there is no rubbing. what you have to make sure of is to replace the springs with new ones cause they start to sag and the ride height is very critical for alignment and tire fit. i recently replaced mine cause of bad tire ware. before i did that the tires rubbed slightly and now not at all. im sure if you got 1.5" you could fit 32's but you have to realize that the alignment will be totally screwed unless you either lower the pivot points of the beams or get bent beams. i dont know that new alignment cams will make up for that much lift. new springs at napa are $90 and it takes about a day to do if you are strong. those damn radus arm nuts are killer!!! as long as you have it apart i would replace the radius arm bushings with the poly ones.
well i did forget to mention he's going to put on a 3 in Body lift, how bout the coil spacers for the f-150, what year would it be and where can we get em?
