Question about 4WD on a 94 Ranger.

Hi i am new to here so sorry if this is the wrong area, I just bought a 94 ford ranger with 4x4 so today it snowed!! And i popped it into four wheel drive it was really icy and i couldnt make it up a hill for the life of me does this mean that my 4x4 isnt working btw its a 5 speed with the older shifter to move it into 4x4 I really love this truck and was wondering

Welcome to this forum! I've moved, and renamed your thread for you. Were your wheels skidding or did it feel like the transmission was slipping? Maybe you have bad tires?
