Audiobahn. :D
I have no experience with JBL but my Audiobahn equipment is great.

Can't go wrong with Fosgate, although Audiobahn is an underrated manufacturer. With your choices given though, i'd go w/Audiobahn.

both in my opinion are good, your choice probably depends on what you're goin for, Audiobahn's amps are great performers, good lookers and expensive.(in most cases). While JBL amps are also good performers, not quite up to par for cosmetics, but have great bang for the buck. There are several members I think that have the JBL amp hopefully they will add their 2cents.

(i'd personally go with the audiobahn)

id get the JBL.

audiobahns aren't well known for long term reliability (no pun intended)

JBL 1200.1 is great, but lacks a sub sonic filter if you are porting the sub... and it does 1345 watts true RMS at 2ohms, and about 30 watts more at 1ohms.

it will also suck about 150-170 amps from your alternator, but so will the audiobahn...

the JBL I would say is more efficient too, most amps that need fans to cool them off is because they waste too much power that turns into heat and lack a good heatsink because of all the chrome and plexiglass.

110-120 amps isn't true, you never calculated the efficiency, if the jbl 1200.1 did 110 amps of ccurrent, it'd be nearly 100% efficient.

almost no class D amps are even close to 90% efficicent

so, lets say the jbl 1200.1 is 80% efficient... that's 130 amps of current... a deal different if you have a 130 amp stock alternator.

unfortunately, even 80% is a good find, class D does not mean it's actually in the 80 percentile and up. I've asked a few people who have had both amps, they said that the JBL draws a noticable amount less, and puts out about the same power. I'm not dissing bahns at all, I'm just trying to get you the best for the money.

anyhow, i suggest you look for the audiobahn from ebay or other online stores, finding it for $350 is easy.

ALSO, look at these other amps for similar price ranges, all just as good:

Cadence A7HC $350 (might be able to find it for this much)
MTX 81000D $360
Hifonics Hercules 1500W $343
adire/ampman revolution 1500w $369 shipped (ampmanaudio.com)

I cannot think of the other goodys at the moment...

alright i'll look into those amps. but i always kinda thought if u bought a certain brand of speakers that if u'd buy that manufacturers amp they work better together
or is that just like a wives tale?

in most cases yes. But if you're buying their lower line amp to power their higher line speakers... maybe not... or vice versa...

but that's normally not in hand with sound quality, only in hand with the speakers handling and the amps output.

I strongly suggest you simply get the best "bang for the buck" that looks good to you. I would not suggest the JBL unless you plan to NEVER port the sub(s), or unless you can afford $30 for a stinger sub sonic filter (or $10 harrison labs FMOD) to protect the sub from harmful freqs when ported.

if you wanna port and have no fear, tune the box LOW.

are u saying that that audiobahn amp is a lower line of theirs?
