Is this an open carrier? I'm pretty sure it is but I want to know for sure. Still new to the axle building process and trying to learn as much as I can.
Yeah, it's nasty but it's not staying in. Yesterday I bought the HP D44 from an F-250 from a guy in IL. I've recently also acquired a set of Chevy flat top knuckles (already milled and tapped) and the hubs and rotors from an F-150. You can guess as to what vehicle I'll be putting this under since I've become fed up with the IFS (plus it's my only vehicle ). I'll be buying the parts for this over the next couple of months so I can build it right the first time. No point in rushing for the sake of quality. I'll have to start a thread in the offroad procjects section for the details of the build-up.
Yup, its open. Remember, there is a carrier break on D44's...... if you're going 4:88's and its got 3:somethings in it now you will need a new carrier.
It's got 4.10's in it right now. But I won't need to reuse this carrier if I'm going with a selectable locker will I? Doesn't the locker assembly replace the whole carrier?
