I am wanting to replace the plug wires on my 99 Mountaineer 5.0. This is the first vehicle I've owned which needed the heat shields.

I have already read many who say to stay away from Bosch wires. Many recommend the Motorcraft and Autolite plug wires.

My question is, where can I find the autolite plug wires?

Also, do I reuse the metal heat shields that are over the plug wires now? I didn't know if all new plug wire sets came with them or not.

I am trying to find the heat socks and was thinking about using that if it would help more.

You can get autolite plug wires at advanced auto parts. as for the heat soxs i just used the old ones on my new wires but i didn't use autolites.

Wire set with proper shields:

SoNic67 I like it when they say it is the correct length as well as it has the shields. You will have to put up with what you buy for a long time, might as well buy something of quality.
