I was farting around in the local Meijers (like walmart only better and not as nationally known) and went down the auto isle. I came across a set of fog lights that are almost exactly the same size as the ones on my 95 Limited. I remember reading here somewhere that you cannot just put new lights in because you might run the chance of frying your wiring, and i have dealt with that to much to want to deal with it again.

So after re-reading the FAQ it says be careful if the bulb is higher wattage then stock, so i take my bulbs out of the fog lights on the old X and one is a 60watt 12v, the other is a 51watt 12v. The replacement lamp and bulbs i am looking at are 51watt 12volt. Would this be just a simple switch over power to power ground to ground? Since basically they are the same wattage?

The only thing bad about them is that the lens cover is blue, but it will still be a huge improvement over the stock.

The blue lens is a cosmetic thing. Unless you like it for some reason, you'd be better off getting the same kind of lights with a clear lens. 51 watts sounds kind of strange, too. Should be 55W for fog lights.

I thought that the 51watt was strange as well, but i went to my local auto shop and they had both the 60w and the 51w and 55w in stock, but they were different part numbers with the same connector, which might explain it.

I dont know, im just telling you what i have seen...

Anyways i installed my fogs this past weekend, which i though would only be a 20 minute job and it turned out to be 6 hours. Of course every single bold had to be either hack sawed off or soaked with some PB Blaster. The passenger side took me about 4 hours and i ended up bending the bracket so i had to take it all the way off to bend it back, and for the drivers side i decided it would be a lot easier to take the bumper off. And while i had the bumper off i discovered why it is an after market grill (still stock looking, but i noticed it was painted, which the stock one should be molded plastic the color of the car right?)

All the lower bumper stuff was semi new - in the last 4 years (we have owned it for 2 years now) and the condenser was pushed on the passengers side back about an inch and a half into the radiator, but the radiator had not moved at all.... So they must have gone off the road or something with it to cause that damage, and also in the upper wheel wells there is major tire rubbing like they did go off road.

ANYWAYS the install went great, i had my cousin help me wire them up, we decided not to cut the stock ends off the harness but to cut one prong off of those little half circle connectors and plug them in to the stock harness connector and electrical tape the crap out of it. But that was the easy part. And they improve my night time driving 100%!

Ill have to take some pics after i get it washed up.
