My Dad's studded tires are definately on their last season, he took them into les schwab and the people said that they could not be restudded and that he would have to get new tires. There is plenty tread life on the tires still, how are tires studded? Isn't there just like a gun that shoots them in or am i totally retarded? Oh yeah, these are old steel studs which are now not being sold in oregon (you have to have aluminium). If there is a tool to put studs on, how much is it? Can i do this myself?

if it's anything like studding up a dirt bike tire you just screw them in.

The new studs will stick out too far and just rip out as you drive.

Well...I figured some stuff out, i could get a 400 dollar stud gun http://www.brunowessel.com/...but that wouldn't make much sense, or I could do the tires completely with pliers...which would take forever, but's possible...i might have to drill new holes or somethign for that. or I could drill small wood screws in from the inside and put a tube in my tire.
