Hey all, new to these forums, I wasn't sure whether to go under stock or modified, my explorer has a custom paint job, rims, and deck so I don't know what that's considered, anyways, just got it a couple days back and Ive been trying to find the number, Ive searched these forums and its not where they say it is, Ive looked where the jack is stored and dont see a white box thing anywhere, its a 2001 2WD Explorer (dont know much else about it) and Fords trying to charge me a ridiculous amount, where else could this thing be? I really wanan use that keypad! oh and I looked under the defrost panel and didnt find anything, any ideas anyone? thanks!

well thanks for the input I guess, I already said that I looked there but its not there, I have no clue where it could be, anyone?

also, Im seeing two kinds of antifreeze, regualr and 50/50, I know the difference but why choose one over the other? (Im in FL if that helps any) thanks again!

The 50/50 is going to save you time by not having to mix it with water. It's essentially a water blend. I guess it would be like if you could buy two-stroke gasoline with the oil already in it vs. mixing it at home. I don't know if that makes sense or helps at all.

If you have a 2 door then the code is behind the passenger airbag.

and if you live in florida you probably don't need a 50/50 mix of water/antifreeze seeing as how the temp rarely, if ever, dips below freezing. Can probably use something with a lot more water.

Remember though that antifreeze protection also helps with your boiling point and with corrosion. And if you decide to take a trip north some day, you can't until you replace your coolant with the proper mix. Just put a 50/50 mix in it and call it good.
