I just got a 2" BL without bolds or bumper brackets. I was wondering if anyone kept any of their original bolts and/or if you measured how long the bolts were that came with your BL?

i have 1 or 2 of the old ones laying in the garage. i broke alot of parts doing my BL. didnt measure the bolts, but the instructions will tell you how long they are. then, all you need it to get the metric thread pattern off of one of your bolts and head to the hardware store.

i have 2 sets of instructions. i have tha trailmaster ones that came with my kit and some else e-mailed me instrucions off another kit, not sure what brand. i can e-mail you the ones that were sent to me and try and scan in mine if i can find them. both will list the parts you need, but they omit thread pattern.

just e-mail me: udmsvt@yahoo.com

emailed :)

I won't, it might not happen for a few weeks because I'm hesitant about doing it. I only got the blocks and 2 brackets with it because I got it for $30. I don't have a steering extension, bumper relocators, bolts and whatever for the radiator.

EDIT: anyone have a pic of the steering extension and radiator extension or whatever it is?

i think some people dont use the steering extension with the 2 inch. and say its better than with it. if i remember correctly from when i was searching it before mine. good luck!

on 2" you dont need a shifter ext....hell, you may not need it on 3".

see, many 91-92 used a regular u-joint with no probs (our 91 has this) whereas many 93-94 have a rag joint, like me. it hangs up sometimes but still works. do a search for my user name and the words "gone sour" for my BL writeup...it should tell you what to look out for. also do a search for my name and body lift. that wil help overcome any other potential issues. also search the FAQ, as there is a good writeup on BL install there.

oh, and BTW...my kit didnt include steering shaft, trailmaster kits dont. also didnt get the rad. brackets. they are just for the fan shroud, so i just removed the shroud.

Everytime I see a question about a body lift, I see a response from you!! Awesome. Everyone should read about your trials before starting so they are prepared for what can happen.

The steering shafts are interchangable between these years. Like udmsvt said, the rag joints are not that great. I was able to change to a steering shaft out of a 91' that had a U-joint. Cost $40 at junk yard, this solved my difficult steering problems.

Good luck,............

thank you! i am NO expert, but take that as a great compliment!

like he said, the parts are interchangable. after about 2k on the truck since the lift, it barely hangs up anymore, but i am still contemplating switching shafts with the one from our non-lifted 91.

I just did the BL on my 91 4dr alittle while back 8 of the 10 bolts came out without any problems, the front two bolts came out in two pieces with the help of a sawz all, the original bolt length for the back 8 is: 2@6.5" and 6 @5" that is from the shoulder of the bolt to the tip but remember that the bolts are metric, the diameter is 1/2".
the front two bolts WITH the body lift blocks are 1/2" by 6 1/2" with a nut.
Hope this helps you.
Joe

fan shroud bottom suport

I did not use the bracket that came with my PA Bl kit, I used these universal straps instead.

steering extension

The steering extension that came with my kit was a very tight fit, I had to do some grinding and manipulating to get it in.

...thats because you probably didnt need it.

Thanks for the pics and all the help. I'm not sure when I'm going to tackle the project because I really don't have a whole lot of time. I'm going to Vegas next week so I'll probably wait til I get back to do this. Thanks again for the pics and help.

Ok so just out of curiosity. I have access to a bunch of 3" pucks and some bolts but they are 6.25". I checked and the size is right for the threads so they will bolt on but I am worried about the bolt length.

And does anyone know the length of the two rear bolts for the BL at the rear hatch. I know they are longer than the rest.

You are also saying that the 6.5" bolts are for a 2" or 3" BL. I am just curious.

Also has anyone fabbed up their own e-brake extender for the rear?

I have a 5spd manual and the shifter extension was awesome cause it got my shifter out of my cup holder. Now I only wish some made a shifter extension that was like well anything greater than 3".

You would need to add the inches of body lift to the lenght of the bolts in my earlier post.
