to start i have a 91 EB 4dr 5spd i just got a body lift on it about two days ago, i like it alot but have found one thing that bothers me . when they lifted it it changed the angle of the shifter coming in so they had to move the shifter boot back about 1"-2" and so it left a gap of no carpet in the front of the shifter boot. they said " Oh, just take a pice of carpet from somewhere else put it there it'll look good as new" well i dont buy it and id rather not cut my carpet from somewhere else. well my question is would a shifter extension in place make the shifter boot go back in its place? if not then i was thinking is there another truck with a bigger ****er boot say a ranger or something? sorry bout the long question. over all though i am happy with the lift and bigger tires. thanks in advance

Anyone? im trying to hurry up and fix this problem cause they have to order the extension. sorry for the impatience.

Thanks dmeis,
i just wrote them a e-mail to see if it would correct my problem with my shifter boot.

I had a similar problem with mine with a 3" body lift. Here's what I did and it worked pretty good and I didn't have to move my shift boot or cut any of the floor opening out. Remove the shifter assembly and heat the shaft with a torch about 3" above where it goes into the transmission, and bend the shaft so it won't interfere with the boot. (of course you'll have to make some notes on how much and in what direction to bend the shaft before removing it from the tranny) This was a cheap and easy way to correct my problem. I also wound up getting a threaded pipe (the same diameter as my shifter shaft) to extend my shifter the extra 3" and it all worked great. Hope this helps... and that I'm not too late.

I guess I read your topic a little too fast...

The shifter extension will bring the shifter into factory alingment with the boot and floorpan.
