I cleaned my IAC valve last week and the high pitched noise and the ticking went away...well today they came back. Do I need to clean the little pellit filter (SEE QUOTE)

The outside black plastic cap that easily spins will pop off and snap back on without damage. Inside there is a felt filter pellet. Cleaning just the valve without removing this often cloggs this filter up worse. This source of back air flow balances the valve and provides clean air to prevent buildup on valve. Often just cleaning this will get rd of the moose calls. Add pictures of this and you have something

can anyone show me where this filter is so I can clean it?

It's in the black cap I believe.

Could be that you need a new IAC altogether.

Yes, it is the black cap on the drivers side above the EGR differential pressure sensor. IAC is the highest thing on the intake manifold. Make sure it is just the cap. There is also a plastic body under it that snaps onto the metal nipple of the IAC. This filter allows fresh air in to balance the valve and keep the valve from gumming up. When you pull out the pellet, just snapping it with your finger gets out a lot of dirt.
