Has anyone on this forum use replacement brand products. I purchased tie rod ends but not sure if I should install them or purchase another name brand such as motorcraft.:us:

Since you're new, as a rule of thumb, before I do any mid-level or higher repair to my Mounty I check the forums here. It always gives you a heads up of what to expect and tips and tricks that the smart guys on these forums know. That being said, you will usually also see warnings about aftermarket brand parts if they shouldn't be used.

A great example is the blend door actuator that controls the heating temperature...I read those threads and every single person on there said Dorman typically makes good products but to stay away from their actuator and buy the factory part. I didn't waste my time, enough people before me wasted theirs.

So if you want to replace some tie rod ends, search some of the tie rod end replacement threads on here using the search tool and see what they have to say. After you read those, if you still have a question, then ask. Usually you won't get many replies if you ask a question that's been covered a hundred times because people expect you to search and figure it out.

Tie rod ends, I would say you are fine using whatever reputable aftermarket brand that your local parts store has. Happy hunting.

For tie rod ends, you can't go wrong with the Dorman, Moog and of course the Motorcraft stuff. Dorman is typically considered 'professional grade' (ie. the stuff the counter will triple charge you on). The Moog one is by far the toughest looking product, but I can't say definitively.

There's the Moog one from RockAuto.
